Reuven Gershon has been a Beatle fan since he first discovered them from an album left at his Mum' house after a party when he was 9 years old. He then learnt to play the guitar and could play all their songs by the time he was 15. As an actor he appeared in 'Come Together' as John Lennon on London's fringe in 1995 and his performance was acclaimed by all the National paper's like the Times and The Telegraph. He then went on to appear in more musicals including Buddy -The Buddy Holly Story, playing the title role in London's West End. While in Buddy he was invited to Sir Paul McCartney's annual Buddy Holly celebration party in 2000. Before leaving the do he decided that Paul and his fianc might appreciate a serenading of a Buddy love song and with one arm around him and another round Heather sang True love Ways. Like George Harrison, Martin is a brilliant Guitarist and the quietest member of the band the role suits him perfectly!

» TestimonialsBritish Beatles fan club review 18.12.2009
I recently caught the gig by the Counterfeit Beatles on December 18th 2009 at The Standard in Walthamstow... I have to say that they are one of the most authentic Beatles tribute bands that I have yet seen. Not only do they have a left-handed Paul, which is always a bonus, but this group play the Beatles music with a genuine enthusiasm and passion - which can be sadly lacking in some tribute acts who simply go through the motions. Although the Counterfeit Beatles are renowned for their stage show and costume changes, on this occasion the band treated us to something extra special...a "Hamburg" set. This was a brilliant way to start the gig, with the band wearing leather jackets and blasting their way through a catalogue of amphetamine fuelled rock & roll - the raucous atmosphere of the Hamburg clubs in 1961 was captured perfectly - only the flying bottles and fights in the crowd were missing. The band worked themselves and the audience into a sweat with an onslaught of Buddy Holly, Chuck Berry, Little Richard and numerous other rock and roll classics, plus early Lennon and McCartney stompers such as 'One After 909' and 'I Saw Her Standing There'. The band's red hot performance and the crowds reaction were equally wild!
After a much needed break the Counterfeit Beatles came back on wearing their "Shea Stadium" jackets and treated us to a wide-ranging set of Beatles material from the period 1963 to 1966. This band don't just churn out the obvious hits, but present a wide-ranging set list of superb Beatles album tracks and obscure but fabulous b-sides. It's great to hear songs that even the Beatles themselves never played live performed so well by the Counterfeit's. The concert was exceptionally enjoyable and entertaining in both the musicianship and the humour that was put across. After two extended sets the crowd were still baying for more, so as a bonus the Counterfeit Beatles gave us a short selection from their 1967 to 1970 repertoire, keeping the place rockin' with scorching renditions of 'Get Back', 'Old Brown Shoe' and 'Revolution'...and asking if there were any "requests"? A voice yelled out 'Helter Skelter', as if a challenge to the band, which was responded to with a finger blistering version!! The crowd went home happy...the band went home a stone lighter!
- Pete Nash: Editor British Beatles Fan Club magazine
I saw the Counterfeit Beatles last night at Trentham Gardens and they were amazing! I absolutely loved them, especially when Paul said I'd got the best scream! The singing was amazing, the playing brilliant and we couldnt have screamed for more if we tried, all my friends said they could have carried on all night. I managed to get a photo with Paul(swoon!) and all the band were so nice and spent time talking to fans and the many kids who had gone. I would definatley recommend them and would defiantly see them again.

"Thank you for your kind request to find out how everything went on Friday 1st August firstly the Counterfeit Beatles: they were awesome, absolutely brilliant and I can't speak highly enough of them, from the way they conducted themselves to the quality of their performance everything was perfect. As you know I was very keen to choose a Beatles act that were musically tight, accurate, energetic and believable and both I and all our guests felt they were above and beyond all we could have expected. We had so much positive feedback from everybody who was there and I'm now thinking of every possible reason to book them again!"
- Daniel James
"The Counterfeit Beatles were fantastic. They worked with us during the day and added to the conference success. Then they played to sessions in the evening where the whole staff, young and old, never stopped dancing and singing along to all their favorite songs (performed just as if the original Beatles were there)."
- Kevin Dean
"The Band looked and sounded great and got everyone up dancing.
- Stan Zuchowski
"They [The counterfeit Beatles] were great. The feed back from the members is that it was the best Festival party we have ever had. This party ends a very grueling week, sport wise, and the atmosphere was electric. Please pass this on to Pete. Also apologies from two screaming fifty year olds who were bouncing up and down in front of them. One of them was me, and it seemed a good idea at the time. It will be a hard act to follow."
"Everything went without a hitch! The counterfeit Beatles were great and had everyone up singing and dancing, all in all a very memorable evening."
"The Counterfeit Beatles were FANTASTIC! I was very worried because they were a surprise for my husband, I needn't have been. From the very first number to the very last my guests danced, sang and laughed along. I'm not sure if the floor of the venue will ever be the same again! The feedback I have received from my guests has been very positive and I would highly recommend the band to anyone". "I would have no hesitation whatsoever in recommending The Counterfeit Beatles. They were a smashing bunch of guys; very professional and supremely talented. Our guests absolutely loved them and it was our most successful event to-date the dance floor was packed the whole evening and the atmosphere was rocking."
- Deborah Price
"Can i just start off by saying how much Sarah and I enjoyed the Counterfeit Beatles at our Wedding. I have to say that i have been a life long fan, and of course will never get to see the real thing but they where as near to perfection as i could of wished for. Because not only did they sound great, but they looked the part and got everyone to get up dance and have a great time.We have had so many of our Guest come to us and say how good they guys were, and I think in some part they where the perfect ending to Sarah and my Wedding."
