» Top 10 Party Game IdeasPass the Parcel
Similar to the Pass the Parcel game you played as a kid, this game steps it up a notch with some naughty prizes and risqu challenges. For prizes, consider pecker candy, massage oils and ticklers. Also slip in an embarrassing task or two between layers, such as kiss a stranger, give someone a lap dance or sing the chorus to Lady Marmalade.
What youll need: one big prize, numerous small prizes, wrapping paper, tasks written on paper, and music.
Pin the Hose on the Fireman
Another childhood game with a fun adult twist. Instead of pinning the tail on the donkey, youre pinning the hose on the fireman. Whether it be a cartoon drawing or saucy photo of a real fireman is up to you!
What youll need: a blindfold, a fireman poster, a pecker drawing, blue tack, and a prize.
Truth or Dare
This is a game set to embarrass the hen. At the start of the night, have all the hens write a dare or naughty question for the bride-to-be to complete or answer throughout the night. It can be humiliating, such as removing her bra while on the dance floor, x-rated (think pinching a strangers bottom or having a specific part of your body autographed), or something innocent, like asking a married couple for advice. Stagger them throughout the night until shes gotten through the entire list. Give her a prize at the end as a reward for all her hard work and humiliation.
What youll need: paper and pens.
Theres plenty of room for creativity and personalisation with this one. All you need to do is come up with a list of items for each team to collect, give them a time limit and have prizes ready for the winning team. Some fun and unusual items to add to your lists: a flavoured condom, a single mans business card, somebodys tie, a temporary tattoo, a pair of chopsticks and a lemon. Another fun twist is to send each team with a camera for photographic evidence!
What youll need: a scavenger list for each team, pens, a camera for each team (optional) and everyones phone number in case hens get lost along the way!
Grab an easel, A3 paper, coloured markers and get ready to play the bridal version of Pictionary. Come up with your own list of things for everyone to draw and put them into a hat. Keep the wedding, hens and marriage theme in mind. Some words to get you started: cocktails, alter, stripper, registry, honeymoon, ball & chain, karma sutra, garter, mother-in-law and bridezilla. Split everyone into teams (and have everyone come up with team names) and start drawing.
What youll need: an easel, large pieces of paper, markers, and items to draw written down on a piece of paper.
The Purse Game
This game is a great way to ease into the games and get everyone mingling. Have each hen pull out three items from their purse (or just one if you have lots of people) and have them discretely put them into another handbag provided. The more unusual the item the better. Then have the bride pull them out one by one and guess who the item belongs to. Taking a shot for every wrong answer is optional!
What youll need: an empty bag or purse, alcohol for any wrong answers (optional).
Design the Wedding Dress
Probably one of the most well-known games for a hens night, this game involves many rolls of toilet paper and everyone breaking into small teams. The aim is to create the dream wedding dress on one of your team members in the given time frame (10 minutes is a good amount of time to allow). At the end each model should strut her stuff on the imaginary catwalk while another team member explains the inspiration (have fun coming up with a designer name and really selling the great craftsmanship and detailing on your dress). The bride gets to choose the winning team.
What youll need: many, many rolls of toilet paper.
Post It Note Game
We love this game as its a great way to give the bride a sweet momento of the night. Give everyone a post-it note and pen. Each hen writes a short sentence of a memory they have of the bride. When everyone is done, place all the post-it notes on a hard surface for the bride to read one by one. As she reads them out she has to guess who wrote it and explain the story out loud. Tales of childhood, old boyfriends and drunken nights welcome. The bride can then add these into a nice hens night keepsake.
What youll need: post-it notes.
The Newlyweds Game
Have you seen that 80s game show The Newlyweds? This game is just like it. Before the party the organisers interview the groom and ask him a number of questions about the bride and their relationship. On the night the bride has to answer the same questions and see if she can comes up with the same answer. For every questions wrong, she must take a shot. We love the idea of video-taping the groom and playing it back for the bride as proof! Some questions to ask: How did they meet? Which sports team does the groom barrack for? How does he take his coffee? What is his job title? If he could change one thing about the bride, what would it be? What is his favourite thing about the bride? How long after the wedding does he want to have children?
What youll need: a list of questions which the groom has already answered, a video player and TV if the groom was taped, and alcohol for any wrong answers.
Picture the Future
This is a fun, creative game that everyone will enjoy. In teams of 3 or more, you must sift through magazines and create a collage of images that tell the story of the couples future together. Include things like the wedding day, honeymoon, their first home, children, etc. Share the final result with the other groups and tell the tale of how you think the pair will end up in 10 years time.
What youll need: old home, fashion and bridal magazines, paper, glue and scissors for each group.
